I filed my 2007 taxes and am recieving a tax refund. Will we recieve the tax rebate? There is myself, my hubby and 5 kids. We made around $24,000 last year. Do we qualify for the rebate check? And how much will we be getting if we do qualify?

yes
i think it’s 300 for you 300 for your hubby and 200 per child.
or maybe it’s up to 1200 for couples and 200 per child.

whoever in the household is actually working (or worked) in 2007 will receive the rebate plus $300 per child.

5 Kids? and only made $24,000 in a year? how did you feed them?
1200+$300/kid. so $2500.
it is my believe this tax system we live under is busted. People who do not pay in should not receive a refund OR a rebate. Probably a good thing for many people I have no interest in public office. believe me, I’d dry up the ******* off the system well.

Yep. You should get $1200 as a couple filing jointly I think.

From what I understand, you will get a tax check, but if you received all of what you paid in back, you will probably get 300 for every member of your household. That is still alot considering you have 7 family members.

$1,200 for couples from the Internal Revenue Service, with an additional $300 per child. People earning at least $3,000 and those who owe little or no taxes would get $300 for singles, $600 for couples. Those making more than $75,000 and couples with income exceeding $150,000 are to get smaller rebates — $50 less per $1,000 they make over those thresholds.

Yes, you qualify. Depending on the age of the kids, you’ll get $2100.
Assuming you paid less than $600 in 2007 Federal Income Tax, you will receive $600 for the two of you and $1500 for the five kids if they are under the age of 17.
BUT BE CAREFUL SPENDING THE MONEY.
While the rebate depends on your 2007 income, it is actually a rebate toward your 2008 taxes. According to the proposed plan, in 2008, taxes would be cut from 10 percent to zero percent on the first $6,000 dollars of taxable income for individual taxpayers.
It’s like a one time tax cut for 2008, but you get the rebate now instead of waiting to file your 2008 taxes. Because this is an advance payment on your 2008 taxes, your refund next year could be more (or less!) depending on your 2008 income.
