Why haven’t I received a second IRS letter about my economic stimulus paper check?

The IRS tool shows my paper check is to be sent out BY May 16th. A lot of people have been saying they received a letter in the mail in the last few days about how much it’s gonna be and when they’re getting theirs. I haven’t. Why?

My last two digits are 01 and e-filed back in February. I was hoping my check would’ve been sent on May 9th like some people. But no letter yet!

    If last 2 digits of your SS# are: Your rebate should be sent by:
    00-20 May 2
    21-75 May 9
    76-99 May 16

    Paper check
    If last 2 digits of your SS# are: Your rebate should be sent by:
    00-09 May 16
    10-18 May 23
    19-25 May 30
    26-38 June 6
    39-51 June 13
    52-63 June 20
    64-75 June 27
    76-87 July 4
    88-99 July 1

    MOST PEOPLE ARE RECEIVING THE LETTER WITH THEIR CHECK OR A DAY OR TWO AFTERWARDS,SO NO BIGGIE.

    I think they are sending the letter, the day they deposit. Mine was deposited on 5/2. Got letter on 5/6.

    My second letter was dated May 5, and it says: You can expect your payment by 5/2/08. In other words, they send out the second letter a few days AFTER making the deposit or mailing the check — not in advance. The only people who got their letter in the last few days are people who also got their money in the last few days.

    I just got my letter today in the mail saying I should receive it by 5/16 my last 2 are 04.. I still have not received the check though…. Per the website it says to allow an additional 3-5 days to receive in mail. Checks started going out 5/9 so I would say we should have them by Friday…
