Everyone I know received a document in the mail advising them they are eligible for the stimulous check from the IRS. I have not. Could it have anything to do with me getting educational credits on my taxes ? …. or… I dont know I am an idiot when it comes to this kind of stuff =) someone help please.

Lots of reasons.
Not getting the letter isn’t one of them. The IRS mailed out that stupid letter (wasting $42million doing so) to anyone who filed in 2006. If you were a student and a dependent on your parent’s tax return, you probably didn’t get a letter.
If you are single, not a dependent and made $3000 or more, you should be fine.

We (my husband and I) filed in early February and received our refund via direct deposit 2 weeks later, but did not receive any notice (letter) either about the rebate. Don’t worry about it.
