I paid about $1300 in federal tax and and $280 in state tax (Illinois). I made about $10,000 for the year.
If I can expect a tax return, around how much will I receive?

10,000 -5450 = 4550 or $455 in federal tax. The rest would be refunded to you.

As a dependent, you are required to file a tax return since your income is over $5,450. You also need to file to claim taxes paid in excess of your income less the standard deduction allowed to a single person. Since your parents claimed you, they will get to use your exemption on their tax return. In your situation, I would use the free filing services available on the IRS website.
