I am a student that worked around $11,000- $12,000 last year. I paid my taxes every paycheck. Last year when I filed for my taxes, I didn’t get anything back. Am I supposed to get something back? Do or did you guys get anything back. I know one friend who said she did. She told me I’m supposed to get all the taxes that I paid throughout the year back.

You should have.
However, did you support yourself on that 12k? Somehow I doubt it, your parents likely claimed you as their dependent. You may be in trouble later when it shows up that you also claimed yourself, which you can not do if you are not supporting yourself.

Your parents may have claimed you. If you want your own refunds at tax time tell them to stop claiming you.
You should have gotten a refund.
You won’t be in trouble either. You didn’t know they were still claiming you. Your parents may be though.
Do you live with them?
