    I get where you’re coming from, but it’s so frustrating for the rest of us who live here on the reservation. Who are you related to here?

    Maybe you have a great point here! Why would the Indian government give money to off reserve Indians? You could file a complaint. I do consider myself an Aboriginal person and I am grateful for the benefits I receive, wether it be medical or financial, it is my birthright. Not all Aboriginal peoples can live on the reserve because of their spouse or job.

    No one said anything about being jealous… It bothers me because I for one have lived here all my life and feel that if a person hasn’t or doesn’t want to live here then why should any benefits that we get go to off reserve memebers!

    It’s not at all because I think I was owed something. It’s because the Canadian Gov put rules on who gets the money, not the Indian peoples! Part of my rights as an Aboriginal person is to be a member of their population, I was schooled on a reserve. They called me and offered that money to me, not the other way around. I should in no way have to explain to anyone how and when I excersize my birthrights! This was a video to help the Indian people, not jealous people.

    I think this is bullshit this money should have been offered to the people who lived here all their lives not just because you have a Band card… Most of you people have never even lived here, but think you are owed soemthing get a life for GOD Sakes….

    now imagine the tax we paid during 2003 to now on cigraeetes and fuel as well

    so if we sign a agreement with the government for not to take legal action againts them,did we really sell our rights to them for this amount of 23oo and change, we agreed to sign these papers ensuring that we get what rightfully ours and now u say its up to the goverment i think we were had in to this agreement and i would like to take proper action against people involved in lying to us ,so we could not sue them or the ones involved….

    This Tax WAS for the Miq Maq people, but the opportunity is over and the checks have already been distributed.

    I have also asked this question but didn’t get an adequate reply yet. I had been told that the remaining funds are kept by the canadian government. I’m still waiting for a reply to see if we have to apply for that reaminder of funds as well. Keep a watch on their homepage!

    wellits over the first of june so what happens next and to the rest of the refund thats left from the people that or didn,t applyed so where is the balance thxs for the time ,concern citzen

    I`m so grateful to have received the refund! My money is going to fund a future project, I`ll keep you all posted on what it at a later date!

    This tax refund is over now, it ended on june 1st, 2007. I did receive a check for 2400.00 $

    Pece and love to all, we can feed the world, ask the queen of England to sell one of her many gems and that one could help one 3rd world country help their selfs to make their future so much better
