So I heard that I can pay for my tuition normally, and write it on my taxes that I did that, and the government will re-imburse me in the form of a tax refund check(since my tuition is so cheap).
I am married…working part-time(aka poor) and my tuition is only 2000 a semester. me and my wife are both going to school too.

When you do your taxes, look at the tuition deduction or the lifetime learning credit.
Please note, both of these only REDUCE you tax bill. If you owed taxes, this would increase your refund. If you do not owe taxes, neither will create a refund. (There are no refundable credits for education.)

You don’t get to “write it off.” However, you may qualify for an education credit.

Whoever told you this is mistaken. There are different tax credits, which reduce your taxes, but nothing that gets the goverment to send you a check to reimburse all of it.
