I would go by the chart on the IRS.gov site. They weren’t guaranteeing that the payments would be early, just that they may be earlier than expected. They probably sent the electronic payment to your bank just before midnight, so I would give it til Monday or Tuesday to show up.

IRS May 9 means you will get it on or before May 9 (and after May 2).

The rebate payment will equal the amount of tax liability on the return (tax liability on the return Form 1040 line 46 or Form 1040A line 28) with a minimum amount of $300 and a maximum amount of $600 for individuals.

Those who did not get full tax rebate this year, will get remaining money in 2009 when they file their 2008 return and qualify. For information on stimulus tax rebate schedule, the eligibility and how much rebate you will get read:

The week starting the 5th, ending the 9th, so they both are if you read them right. The ones for that week will START coming out the 5th, but only some of them will be on Monday, some will be other days up to Friday.

If your previous refund said US TREASURY 220 and was in your account before 4/15, then your direct deposit will leave the IRS to your bank some time on Monday. The bank may or may not be able to post it to your account on Monday.
