Spend Your Flexible Health Savings Account Now

Among many other essential year-end money moves, consider looking at what you’ve got in your flexible spending account (FSA) and spending what’s left for 2009 on durable health goods for 2010.

Consumer Reports’ Money & Shopping Blog links to two drug stores’ FSA-friendly lists, at CVS and Rite Aid, for a primer on what you can buy with FSA money you stashed away for just-in-case situations. Body wash, multi-vitamins, and baby goods are eligible for FSA spending, and, as Consumer Reports points out, this may be the last year that such over-the-counter purchases are made easy to reimburse with FSA funds.
