Have the IRS stimulus checks actually helped the economy thus far?

The stimulus checks were supposed to boost the economy but it seems to only be getting worse. Does it take longer amount of time or something? I’d venture to say the majority of the people who got a check already have it spent.

    They have not helped the economy, and they won’t. People are paying bills, not buying things.

    considering that only about half of the people have gotting theirs so far. i say give it some more time!

    by the way, im using mine to go to the Bahamas! not to pay bills but splurge!!

    It didnt really help out most of the people I know just blew their checks on useless stuff.

    No. I bought 140 gallons of gas, which is about a month of driving just to work.
