I was first told my expected refund date was changed to Feb 29th, then I was told It was delayed and to use reference 1221 when calling, next I was told that it would be deposited on
Feb 8th. Which did not happen! I was then given ref 8802 when calling and now I must use reference 1121 when calling. I have talked to several irs reps and none of the answers are the same.

Last friday I filed my federal income tax online on efile…..and it told me I had to wait till it got approved or something like that…well its been a week and I still haven’t heard from them….I went back today to do my state, but it wouldn’t let me file my state till I heard back from the IRS about my federal…..is this unusual should I have heard from them already?
I am still waiting for answers

We would like to register our national (registered) not-for-profit in the USA and get 501(c)(3) status with the IRS. Is there anyone who is able to advise on next steps or even act as consultant to get the job done? It seems to be a critical step for our South African company, in order to receive donations with tax benefits for USA citizens. We are also interested in associated fees.

Jinglenut with bananas asked:

Let me clarify. I have not filed taxes since 2003. Since then, I have been sent w-2′s but have misplaced them. Now I need to file for years 2003, 2004, 2005, but HAVE NO W-2′S. Where can I get this information without going to each and every employer??

Does the IRS already know how much money I made blah blah year because employer reported it already and if so, how can I find this information out??

Anne M asked:

I read that if you had your processing fee for like efile taken from your IRS 2007 return (and the return was DD) you would not get the stimulus check as a DD but as a check! Can anyone support that statement? I can’t find anything on the IRS website to confirm it. THANKS!!!

Are there any reasons why I would not get a stimulus check from the IRS?

I know that the IRS prohibits using the ACTUAL EXPENSES METHOD during the first year of vehicle usage (i.e. 2005) and then using the STANDARD MILEAGE deduction for the succeeding years (2006)…But I tried to circumvent this rule by the ff:

I want to shift to the STANDARD MILEAGE method this year and subsequent years. Therefore, I filed an amended tax return (1040x) for 2005 and changed my vehicle deduction from Actual to Standard Mileage. Then I included a payment with the return to make up for the resulting tax deficiency.

I then filed my current return for 2006 using the Standard Mileage method which is easier and allows me a larger deductible this year. Is this allowed?
