Why do I have to pay taxes on my 2007 tax refund?

I will admit that I am not financially savvy and I am thankful that someone can do my taxes for me.
Every year, we have to pay taxes on the tax refund from the previous year. To me, that seems like I’m being doubled taxed. I overpaid the government, they refund me, but then they take money back out of that refund of money that should have originally been mine?
Arg…..Can someone explain this to me?
We lived in 2 states last year, so we will be paying taxes on two refunds.
Don’t get me wrong. I don’t understand why I have to pay taxes on a refund, but I still do it every year. I’m not interested in trying to trick the IRS or the state government.

The liberals have gone mad, 30% of the people who will receive a tax refund in the stimulous package DON’T pay taxes!!!
I guess if they didn’t get the 30% included they would have screamed about more tax cuts for the rich right?
So suddenly now the liberals consider anyone with a job who pays taxes as rich?
WRONG Mild…..30% of the people included in the stimulous plan will receive money and they DON’T pay ANY income tax.

Is a sales tax as fare to those who barely make a living, as an income tax?

With no sale tax those with high incomes and no income tax have it made. A $10 sales tax hurts low income people making say 6000 a year. But what is it to those making 50,000 or 100, 000 a
year. So you think if every poor person ‘puts their nose to the grind stone’ they too can make that kind of money. Ha!
