For example, this is my first year filing independent. When I do my taxes without claiming any deductions, I get all my taxes refunded.
I have some deductions I could claim, most notably the fact that I was a college student. If I claim these deductions can I get even more money back than what I paid in taxes? Or does the max refund you can get = what you actually paid in taxes?
I didn’t mean being a college student automatically was a deduction, but paying interest on student loans and tuition fees are deductions.
Can i get a child tax refund and EIC back if I only made $1500 last year?
